Damon Waitt, Director of the NC Botanical Garden

NCBG has been the major recipient of proceeds from the Chapel Hill Garden Club’s biennial Garden Tour since the Tour began in 1996. Recent donations have focused  primarily on expanding the popular, interactive Children’s Wonder Garden. Improvements made in the past two years include the installation of two native bee houses, interpretive signage, and five giant butterflies in the pollinator garden. Adults and children love the new tree stump jump in White Oak Woods. The nature play area’s popular sand-dig has been relocated, framed with cedar, and topped with a shade sail. Come, learn, and enjoy!
